Shopify Black Friday Discount Launch Checklist: Test Before You Go Live
Short answer: Before Black Friday 2026 (November 27), check that every discount has the right dates and time zone, test each combination in a real checkout on mobile and desktop, verify margins on worst-case carts, and decide who monitors and who can roll back changes.
1. Schedule and time zones
Section titled “1. Schedule and time zones”- Each discount has a start and end date and time
- The time zone matches your store settings
- Early access, Black Friday and Cyber Monday windows do not leave gaps or unintended overlaps
- Old seasonal discounts are deactivated
- Active automatic discounts are under the 25 limit
2. Eligibility
Section titled “2. Eligibility”- The right products and collections are included
- Exclusions (low-margin, clearance, restricted brands) are working. See excluding products
- Customer-specific offers (VIP, first order) work only for the right people
- Offers behave correctly in each market and currency
3. Test carts

| Cart one item/one dollar below | Discount does not apply |
| Qualifying + excluded product | Only eligible items discounted |
| Each tier boundary | Correct tier |
| Logged-in VIP vs guest | VIP only |
| With a discount code | Matches your combination rules |
| Two offers eligible at once | Intended winner, no accidental stack |
4. Stacking and margin
Section titled “4. Stacking and margin”- Combination settings are explicit on every discount. See stacking rules
- Application strategy chosen (Maximum for most sales)
- Lowest-margin cart tested with every allowed discount applied
5. Devices and experience
Section titled “5. Devices and experience”- Test on iPhone and Android, plus desktop
