Getting Started
PowerX — Functions Creator is the modern replacement for Shopify Scripts. It lets you create powerful discount functions, customize shipping and payment options, and manage complex promotional campaigns — all without writing code.
Installation
Section titled “Installation”- Visit the PowerX — Functions Creator listing on the Shopify App Store.
- Click Add app and authorize it for your Shopify store.
- Once installed, open PowerX from the Apps section in your Shopify admin.
Tip: PowerX is available on all Shopify plans. The free Starter tier works with development stores so you can test everything before going live.
Dashboard Overview
Section titled “Dashboard Overview”After installing, you’ll see the PowerX dashboard with three main sections:
- Discount Functions — Create and manage automatic discounts including volume, BOGO, bundle, and conditional promotions.
- Shipping Customization — Rename, hide, or reorder delivery options that appear at checkout.
- Payment Customization — Control which payment methods are visible based on cart contents, customer location, or order value.
Creating Your First Campaign
Section titled “Creating Your First Campaign”- From the dashboard, click Create Campaign.
- Choose the function type — for example, Product Discount.
- Give your campaign a name that helps you identify it later (e.g., “Summer BOGO Sale”).
- Configure the discount rules:
- Select the discount type (percentage, fixed amount, BOGO, etc.).
- Define conditions — which products, collections, or customer groups qualify.
- Set scheduling — when the campaign starts and ends.
- Click Save to create the campaign.
- Toggle the campaign to Active when you’re ready to go live.
Your discount will now apply automatically at checkout for qualifying orders.
Migrating from Shopify Scripts
Section titled “Migrating from Shopify Scripts”If you’re currently using legacy Shopify Scripts, PowerX provides a built-in migration tool:
- Navigate to Settings → Script Migration in the PowerX dashboard.
- Select the Scripts you want to migrate.
- PowerX will convert them into equivalent Shopify Functions automatically.
This feature is available on all plans, including the free Starter tier.
Key Concepts
Section titled “Key Concepts”Campaigns
Section titled “Campaigns”A campaign is a set of discount rules grouped together. Each campaign can contain multiple rules that work in combination.
Functions
Section titled “Functions”Shopify Functions are the underlying technology that powers PowerX. They run at checkout to apply discounts, modify shipping options, or customize payment methods. Functions replace the deprecated Scripts API.
Stacking
Section titled “Stacking”PowerX supports discount stacking — multiple campaigns can apply to the same order. You control the priority and combination rules from the dashboard.
